Welcome to the new PARC website created via Weebly! Some important reminders for this month:
- Time to clean out the nestboxes! Young Eastern Bluebird scouts will be winging their way through your yard in search of nest holes. Take a few minutes to make sure no branches are hanging down in front of the hole and that the box is in good shape. These young scouts will be looking inside to be making sure there are no nest materials from last year, so clean house!
- Things are starting to bloom again here in the Poconos! Be sure to take a walk in the early morning or evening and listen for resident songbirds. Migrants will begin to return next month, so this is the last chance to enjoy the song of our resident avian neighbors.
- April is a good time to think about planting! Be sure to use native species, so keep your eyes open for any native plant sales. In Monroe County, PA, the Brodhead Watershed Association will be holding a native plant sale the beginning of May. The Monroe County Conservation District will hold their annual tree seedling sale in mid-April.
Hope to see you out on the trail!
